Tarot

Tarot is a divination practice using a deck of 78 cards. The deck contains 22 allegorical cards called the Major Arcana and 56 cards in four suits called the Minor Arcana, which depict archetypal concepts and mundane events, respectively. A tarot reading consists of a random selection of these cards, which are then interpreted to provide insight to a given question.

Lenormand

Lenormand is a card-reading practice similar to but distinct from the tarot. The 36-card deck uses a symbol set derived from tea leaf reading and has a reputation for being direct and practical in its messages. Lenormand cards are typically read in a line of 3-5 cards or in a spread called the Grand Tableau, which uses all 36 cards.

Classic Cartomancy

Playing cards can similarly be used to gain insight and tell fortunes. Since they lack the illustrative art of tarot and related divinatory decks, playing cards tend to have a more straightforward, down-to-earth sort of tone to their messages.

Dominoes & Dice

Reading dominoes and dice for insight has its roots in folk magick and dates back to antiquity. Interpretations of the pieces used are based on numerology or symbols from separate disciplines, such as astrology.

Geomancy

Geomancy is a divination technique that dates back at least to the Renaissance. It uses a set of 16 figures generated by coins, dice, cards, or any number of approaches that can give odd/even, active/passive markers. The resulting information is interpreted in a similar manner to statistical analysis, identifying trends and offering practical solutions to questions.
